EXCHANGE ONLY Description: The Museum at Eldridge Street is a non profit cultural organization that has undertaken restoration of the Eldridge Street Synagogue. Completed in 1887, the synagogue became one of the busiest in Manhattan until the mid 1950's when it was forced to close down. In 1986, Eldridge Street Project was incorporated. They now sponsor concerts, lectures, art installations, workshops for school children, and other cultural and educational programs that interpret the site and its story for audiences of diverse ages and backgrounds. |
