DESCRIPTION:
Food & Friends prepares and delivers specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with providing nutrition counseling to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses throughout Washington, DC, 7 counties of Maryland and 7 counties and 6 independent cities in Virginia. Since 1988, food & friends has fostered a community providing companionship and care to clients, their loved ones and caregivers. Determination of eligibility is entirely health based. Food & friends will serve about 2,600 clients this year.
Thanks to community support, food & friends has never had to require fees for their services. More than 60% of food & friends' annual income comes from donors.
